Queens of (Good) Hearts and Kindly Kings: Exploring Lovingkindness

“Sometimes miracles are just good people with kind hearts.”

Romantic love is just one aspect of Valentine's Day; we may also consider the deep connections of agape and the essential human expression of lovingkindness (aka loving-kindness). Whatever we call these personal interactions (compassion, mercy, generosity of spirit, grace, benevolence), we understand that they are the building blocks of the saying "love makes the world go round." At this time of rampant division and intolerance, it is helpful to reflect upon and celebrate the unbounded lovingkindness that circulates throughout the world each day.

Using our memories and SoulCollage® cards, we'll discover meaningful sources of lovingkindness in our lives. From "the kindness of strangers" we've received, to crucial supporters in our journeys, to our own "random acts of kindness," we will examine and embrace our individual, unique, loving-kindness tapestry. We'll identify some Neters we can call on when our goodwill, generosity or compassion require nurturing. In the session's final act of lovingkindness, we will seek guidance for how we can extend such generosity and compassion to our selves.

How to prepare before the session (important):
1. Look through your SoulCollage® Community cards and select those that reflect a form of lovingkindness. This may be such love extended to you and/or those to whom you extend it.

2. Select the Companion card that most helps you to receive and/or extend lovingkindness.

3. Gather any Council cards that represent archetypes related to love, kindness, mercy, compassion and any other energies that "fit" for you.

4. Compile the Committee cards that reflect the energy of
receiving and/or extending lovingkindness. You may also wish to include some Neters that get in your way.

5. THINK YOU DON'T HAVE SUFFICIENT CARDS FOR THIS? Just collect images that "speak" to the topics described above. (Actually, you could do this session with your journal and imagination only!)

6.
Have the rest of your deck, your journal, and pen
