Discernment: 1) the ability to judge well; 2) to grasp and comprehend what is obscure; 3) perception... obtaining spiritual direction and understanding
Why "Discernment?" It's a complex, essential skill that, when understood and refined, can lead us to larger happiness and greater success. It's at play when we choose where to live, whom to associate with, what job offer to take, which shirt to wear, or whether to venture down a poorly lit street. It's an aptitude of perception and decision-making that can keep us content, safe, engaged, authentic, and fulfilled. Discernment is a navigation tool to identify what is right for and true to you.
How does SoulCollage® fit in? Discernment depends on many of our "moving parts," those we've already met within our decks, and those yet to be discovered. When discernment's in action, clarity rules - drawing from our knowledge, incoming information, emotional cues, and innate intuition. But our lives and our psyches are wrought with opportunities for confusion, obscurity, self-doubt, and second guessing. Our SoulCollage® decks offer a treasure chest from which to identify and integrate the aspects of ourselves that support Discernment, and those that hinder it. Below are two examples from my own deck. The first is my Sleuth (Council) who helps me dig deep to get the information I need. The second is Clueless (Committee), who has the capacity to completely miss crucial information that is staring me in the face!

Enjoy Michele's guided 6 minute audio exploration of some pathways to Discernment.
This course is anchored in a series of written instructional materials (provided to you via email), each with a distinct focus of information and suggested explorations with your cards. Each contains a treasure of perspectives and ideas. Drawing from your decks as whole, you'll explore the emotional, social, intuitive, and practical aspects of deep knowing, clear perspective, and wise determination. You'll look at old cards in new ways, make new cards as Neters come forth, and dialogue among cards to build a scaffold of energies that support authentic assessments and sound choices. If you've not yet created a Discernment card, you'll certainly be inspired to do so! If you choose, you may interact with Michele by email or on Facebook, sharing cards and discussing topics as needed.
The wisdom and perspectives for this course include not only the magic of SoulCollage®, but the Tarot (particularly Aeon/Judgement, Justice, Temperance/Art and some Court Cards), yoga philosophies, the ancient Greeks, and traditional cultures including the Inka and the Plains Indians. (Discernment can be seen as a sophisticated cousin of Disgust.) Whether your deck is or isn't organized into suits, or you are just beginning your practice - this course will be meaningful for you!
You'll move toward discernment with both the sacred and the practical in mind. Sessions include:

"If we could be gifted with discernment, and we could surround ourselves with loyal friends, we would have a life of great meaning: It would be constructive. It is important for us, then, to reform our mind by examining it in great detail." HH The Dalai Lama
"Discernment is the ability to grasp, comprehend, and evaluate clearly. It means we can see the true nature of things; it allows us to distinguish between what is real and what is imitation. This is one of those intangible qualities that cannot be taught, but can be developed and improved upon over time."
